Ways to start an I Hop restaurant

We all prefer going out for eating.  We all have our most favorite restaurants that truly match our taste. Most of the time, the prices are right and they have specials that enhance the dining experience.

You have your choices of restaurants and eateries to visit. You can choose those who major in breakfasts or lunches. Some only have dinner menus. Some restaurants only serve lunch. Some of the eateries are operating since a long time. Others are upstarts.

IHOP is one of the most popular restaurants. It has been around since 1958 when it established its first store in Toluca Lake, California. The parent company, Dine Equity, Inc. has been franchising since 1960 and has stores in 49 states, Canada, and Mexico. It has become one of the favorite family restaurants. It offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

What needs to be done to start an IHOP restaurant franchise.

You are going to have to have a net worth of about 1.5 million with close to $500,000 in liquid assets. In order to get approved, you must have some basic business experience and restaurant experience as well. The company no longer helps you to finance your franchise. So if you donÕt have adequate cash it is always better to consult a bank.

You will be given training in the main office after you get the approval. The outlet is constructed following strict guidelines and other requirements. You must have room for 185 people.  The area population should be between 25,000 to 50,000. If the store is a part of grocery establishment then the size should be 10,000 to 20,000 square feet. Your customers should get enough parking space.

Opening an IHOP franchise will be nice for people who have experience in business. If you can meet these requirement, you will receive the necessary training, and out just might be the latest IHOP to open in your area. Though the chain will help you with the food and training.  The employees need to be hired by you. Candidates should be interviewed by you.
